Getting Published: Discover the Ins and Outs of Writing for Kids with author Norene Paulson

ADULTS - this one is for you! Ever wonder if you have what it takes to write for kids? Ever read a picture book, middle grade or young adult book and thought “I’d like to do that” but are unsure how to get started? 

If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, then don’t miss this workshop by kidlit author Norene Paulson who will answer your questions and explain step-by-step what it take to get a publishing deal. 

Content Details:

  • How I got started and what steps I took along the way that helped me become successful 

  • Discuss the difference between traditional publishing, hybrid publishing, and self-publishing

  • The submission process

  • Where to find story ideas and may include a short idea generating activity if time permits

  • A list of online resources to help them get started learning the craft of writing for kids including a giveaway of five writing craft books.

  • Time for Q & A's. 

  • An “After the Workshop” opportunity to submit a story or story idea to me to review  and provide suggestions and feedback on marketability.
